Grapes or Raisins?

I love this visual comparison – imagine your skin cells are like grapes, raisins and corn flakes…. It takes 4 weeks for your skin cells to regenerate. With age and many other factors like skincare, the environment and your diet, we lose collagen and skin cells get dehydrated, they shrink before they reach the surface and when they finally do, they become more flattened instead of plump (like the cornflakes at the bottom of the box!). This is when fine lines start setting in and the skin’s color becomes more dull looking.

Did you know that when you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis, all the products gets sucked up by the dead skin cells (illustrated by the cornflakes) leaving the cells that really need it still dry and dehydrated (like the raisins).

Keep your cells plump (like the grapes) by using an exfoliator 2-3 times a week for maximum benefit. Microdermabrasion can also be very beneficial for your skin. Moisturize daily with gentle moisturizers. Hydrate your skin from the inside out! 💦 Don’t be a raisin, be a grape! 🍇 It’s not too early or too late.
