RF Microneedling

How exactly does the treatment work?

The combination of radio frequency and percutaneous needling induces collagen production within the dermis and tightens elastin fibres. The diagram below shows the specifics of the treatment and how it interacts with your skin.

Benefits

RF Needling has outstanding success for all skin types (unlike many lasers that can’t be used on certain types of skin)
Tightens skin, minimizes pores, reduces scarring (excellent for acne scarring), lightens pigmentation.
There is very low risk of side effects and PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) – a key difference when compared to optical based treatments (IPL & Laser)
Reasonably low down time after the treatment (generally about 48-72 hours of mild swelling, 24 hours of redness).

Where can you administer the procedure?

RF Needling is effective on most areas. Routinely Beauty for Life performs this treatment on the face, neck, decolletage, arms, hands and local areas of scarring.

It’s important to note that RF Needling requires numbing cream prior to administering the treatment. This makes it more comfortable for you. This is applied an hour before the treatment.

What to expect post-treatment

At the time of having the needling done, you can expect to feel a warm sensation in the skin. This indicates to us the treatment is working effectively. Immediately after, your skin will be flushed and sensitive to extreme temperatures and UV.

It’s important to remember that RF Needling does break the skin, so pin point bleeding is common. You will experience redness, that may last between 24-72 hours post treatment.

After the procedure you will notice slight reddening of the skin and possibly some swelling.

Very occasionally, a slight crusting may develop in some areas. If this does occur, please do not pick or rub the area as this may lead to a sub-optimal outcome.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

What is the result?

Within the next few weeks you’ll notice a tightening of the skin. Unlike microneedling without the RF, immediate results will be harder to notice as you must allow the healing process to occur.

The result of RF Needling will continue to develop up to four weeks after initial treatment
